Rhinitis Treatment

Rhinitis is a common condition in which the nose becomes inflamed and irritated. It can be caused by allergies or other health problems such as sinus infection. Rhinitis can be seasonal or perennial and affects a large number of adults and children worldwide.비염치료

Rhinitis symptoms include a runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing and itchy, watery eyes. The inflammation and irritation are caused by chemicals produced by the immune system in response to an allergen. These substances are called chemical mediators. Allergic rhinitis is the most common form of rhinitis. It can be triggered by many different allergens such as pollen, mold, pet dander and cigarette smoke. It is important to identify the triggers of your allergic rhinitis so you can avoid them to help minimize your symptoms.

In order to diagnose rhinitis, your doctor will perform a physical exam and ask you about your symptoms. They will then order some tests to see if your symptoms are caused by an allergy. One of the most common tests is a skin prick test. In this test, your doctor puts a small amount of several different allergens on the surface of your skin. Then they will prick or scratch the skin, which causes a red, itchy bump that is a sign of an allergic reaction. Another allergy test is a blood test, which measures the level of immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies to different allergens in your body.

There are many different treatments for rhinitis, including over-the-counter and prescription medications. Antihistamines are the most commonly used medications for treating rhinitis, as they reduce the production of histamine in your body, which is a chemical that triggers your allergy symptoms. Decongestants can also be useful for reducing rhinitis symptoms by decreasing swelling in your nose and throat. Other treatments that may be recommended by your doctor include leukotriene receptor antagonists, glucocorticoids and cromolyn.

Traditionally, people with allergic rhinitis have been classified according to whether their symptoms are seasonal or perennial. However, a new classification based on symptom duration and severity has recently been developed.라경찬한의원
